a place where everyone belongs

We’re brewing something special in downtown Santa Barbara, a nonprofit cafe designed with and for the disability community, creating jobs, connection, and community one cup at a time.

Without spaces like this, connection happens occasionally instead of naturally and a community that deserves to be fully seen is still too often experienced at the edges. this isn’t just about access, it’s about feeling comfortable, connected, and part of everyday life. it’s about having a place to meet a friend, grab a coffee, share your work, or just sit and feel like you belong.

inclusive by design

built with the disabled community to support all abilities.

every dollar gives back

profits reinvested into local programs and nonprofits.

creating jobs to foster independence and purpose.

a space for connection, conversation, and culture.

meaningful employment

community hub

more than just a cafe...

more than just a cafe...

by day, state of mind cafe will be a welcoming neighborhood coffee shop creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, while also generating revenue that’s reinvested back into the community.

by night, it becomes a vibrant arts and culture hub filled with music, conversation, creativity, and connection.

every detail is thoughtful. every purchase gives back. every visit helps build something bigger. it’s more than just coffee, and it’s more than just a cafe.
