State of mind cafe is the fiscal sponsor for two programs. one of them is the Leni fe bland performing arts partnership. They work to ensure that all students in the santa Barbara unified school district, regardless of background, have access to the performing arts as an essential part of their education. The Leni Fund was founded to honor the legacy of Leni fe bland, a powerful advocate for equitable access to the arts.
at state of mind cafe, we believe in championing organizations that provide equitable access to resources, essential services, and support for our community. the Leni fund does just that, and we are proud to be their fiscal sponsor!
along with the Leni fund, we are also a fiscal sponsor for the Sara Fund. in honor of Sara miller mccune’s 85th birthday in 2026, her founded academic publishing company called sage, will be the inaugural donor to the Sara Fund with a donation of $250,000 distributed over the next 5 years. it is housed under state of mind cafe as a program that provides civic engagement for youth in Santa Barbara county, and funding to support nonprofit media outlets.
Memorializing Sara’s youth engagement and the activities that led to her commitment to social justice, The Sara Fund will enable other young people to lead meaningful initiatives for their communities. it will compliment Sara’s other accomplishments like the McCune Foundation as it will focus on youth, civics, and media.
